Acolytes

The Acolytes assist the Priest with Liturgies, on a roster basis

Caring for our church, people are rostered on for cleaning.

Music Ministry

Choir/ music group provide music to enhance the Liturgy

Angels of Assumption

A group for young parishioners (Angels) from the ages of 4 to 13 who meet every Sunday after the 9.30am Mass to pray (11am-12noon), sing, cook and do craftwork in a fun loving environment yet having Jesus and our Blessed Mother as our foundation! Pls bring finger food if possible to share after our hard work!

Angels of Assumption meet and invite member of the parish on the last Friday of every month at 6pm for a Rosary by Candlelight to recite the Rosary and have a group dinner afterwards – pls bring a plate!

The Angels of Assumption sing for mass on every 5th Sunday in a month.

Children's Sunday Liturgy

A group who provide activities for younger children during the 9.30am Sunday Mass, who have not yet   received First Communion.

 

CLAG

The Catholic Ladies Activity Group is a social group for women of the parish. The main activities are talking and praying. Meet once a week.

R.C.I.A

Team who provide a process of    preparing and welcoming new members to the Catholic Faith. program run once a year.

 

Readers & Commentators

Group of people who assist with the Masses by providing their reading skills. Put on a roster basis

Assumption Prayer Group

Meet for group prayer, once a week.

 

Church Guardians

This group was established to keep our church open during the week. Guardians are rostered for weekly, 1 hourly periods. Provides a time for relaxation and prayer. 

Rosary Group

Group who pray the rosary before the 5pm Mass on Fridays.

Altar Servers

Altar servers are the boys and girls who assist the Priests and Acolytes on the Altar, on a roster basis

Eucharistic Ministers

Assist with the distribution of Holy Eucharist at Mass, to nursing homes, hospitals, the housebound or disabled.

St Vincent De Paul

A charitable organisation who with the assistance of volunteers run a second hand clothing and furniture store and a welfare office to assist those requesting assistance.

Archives

Collect and store records and photos of our parish for future generations.

Legion of Mary

“To Jesus through Mary” The Legion visit people at home,hospital and retirement villages. They promote rosary and prayer. The Legion meet Tuesdays at 10am in the Parish Centre.

Youth Mass

A Mass on the first Sunday of the month at 9.30am, made by the youth for the youth.

Art and Environment/

Notice Boards

Maintain notice boards for  upcoming events and enhance liturgical environment with displays or banners

Liturgy Committee

Committee to plan and coordinate Liturgies. Aims to have a representative of each group involved with liturgy.

Zones

Team who coordinate the delivery of the Contact Magazine, once a year at Christmas.

Assumptacare

This group helps parishioners in distress by responding appropriately as a need arises, includes cooking meals etc

Marriage Preparation

Assist couples in preparation for marriage with the FOCCUS course

 
Catechists

Providing the opportunity for  Government School Children to  develop their catholic faith and to prepare for sacraments

Parish Finance Committee

Committee to control the finances of the Parish. Monthly meetings

 
Catenians

An association open for Catholic men. Members meet on the second Monday of the month.

Pre-Baptism Team

Team who holds a meeting with a group of parents to help them in the preparation of children for baptism
